Pro Cook Professional Steamer, £89
We all know that steaming food is brilliantly healthy way to cook – preserving all the flavour as well as all the goodness.
But if you’ve got a few ingredients you want to cook at once it can be a bit of a faff to get them all cooked at the same time.
And that’s where the Pro Cook Professional Steamer comes in to make your prep SO much easier.
With a stock pot on the base, and two steamer sections you can cook a bunch of ingredients at once, just adding the layers at different times – for example, rice in the bottom, salmon in the middle and some veggies on the top.
And because they’re all a good depth, even bulky ingredients remain unsquashed.
While a plus from a cooking point of view, the depth is the only possible downside to the Pro Cook Professional Steamer as it means that you do need a fair bit of cupboard space to house it when not in use. It’s a small price to pay for such a useful bit of kit. And I’ve found that I’m using it more and more so it barely ever makes it into the cupboard anyway!
The steamer feels good to use too. It’s reassuringly weighty – but not so heavy it’s hard to lift – and it just feels like a good quality product with thoughtful features like stay-cool handles, and even a 25 year warranty.
The quality is reflected in the price – at £89 it’s not a cheap bit of kit, but if it lasts you 25 years then it’s more than worth it!
